The Oaks - Deck / Patio
The Desk and Patio

Let's talk decking for a minute before we get into the finishes! We ended up going with Trex Decking. We picked the Transcend Lineage line in the color Jasper. Jasper is a deep shade of mocha. This line has temperature control, which it can still get hot but stays 37 degrees cooler than other brands, which is huge or hot summers! We are SO EXCITED for a no maintenance deck!!!

Also a cool thing about Trex is they have hidden fasteners, you screw in the treated lumber and not into the boards. And the outside boards that you have to screw into they have hidden plugs that make the holes disappear. So you don't see any screw holes which is a huge bonus and a feature I really loved!

There truly is something so special about a patio/deck. I think maybe from my personal experience because here in the midwest we spend any nice night we can outside and that usually mean, on the pontoon, around the campfire or on the deck! So many sweet memories can be made while the whole family is gathered around getting lost in time, enjoying God's creation!
So follow along below to see how The Oaks back deck turned out!

This deck is very long. So there is 2 different ways to enter from the house. This side, the left side is right off the master suite. With 2 lounge chairs and a cozy corner daybed.

These chaise lounge chairs I fell absolutely in love with! The base coloring is perfect and looks much more high end than they are. They came with a fun bold green stripe cushion, that I actually did like outside. I just didn't love seeing the green from the master bedroom. So I opted for these very light beige ones that are perfect!

The dreamy daybed that is so cozy with a morning cup of coffee or watching the sunset over the lake! It is under $300 too which is unheard of!

We have a grill on the deck too for all guests to use!

I searched high and low for patio furniture. The thing is with it being so long I wasn't sure what the correct layout would be for the best flow. So the center of the desk is the dining area.
That large window is right above the kitchen sink, which is one of the best views in the house!
I found this 8 piece table and chair set which was great to find a set all together! Yes, it comes with 2 more chairs that the picture shows above but I didn't think we need quite that much seating at the moment.

I hit the Walmart jackpot for planters and pots this year. Don't sleep on Walmart people!! Their Better Homes and Gardens line is so good.
This Poppy Scalloped Planter is $10!!

The third section that you enter from the great room is the lounge/living area.
The Better Homes and Gardens Swivel Chairs are a new favorite of mine! I have them at our house and I knew I wanted to get them for here at the oaks. They swivel which is so nice and are super comfy. Also a great price!! I highly recommend.

Add this large planter and resin moon planter to the list of Walmart scores!
Also let's chat a second on my new favorite thing, these Hydrangea Trees!! I can't get enough of them. Bringing height and fullness to a corner. Might be my favorite find of the summer so far!

And the best feature of them all, the outdoor shower!! This will be so nice to have for rinsing off your feet or a swimsuit shower after swimming in the lake!
