Our Florida Vacation Details
30A near Destin, Florida is our favorite spot to vacation as a family. We love the beautiful atmosphere, the caribbean looking ocean and white sand beaches, and the honestly the best part is that it's all golf cart friendly and the most fun way to get around as a family!
We get asked almost on the daily about our Florida vacations and where we stay etc. So, I wanted to put together a blog post where all the details can live!
A few tips we've learned along the way for making a trip more affordable before I share the houses we have stayed at!
If you can travel in February, it's a lot cheaper than March/Spring Break. (Just be prepared for a little colder temps, 55-75 degrees is what we've experienced).
Also, if you book directly through a property management site you can save quite a bit in fees that you would pay on VRBO or AIRBNB. Which is what else I want to talk about because with soooo many rentals available in 30A, we found a management company that has been amazing to work with. Modern Beach Vacation Rentals. We actually booked organically through them last year because I fell in love with the house below. I booked it through airbnb and then saw it listed the management company. When I went directly to their website I realized I could save over $400 booking directly through them.

I'm sharing the houses we personally have stayed at and loved, but they have so many options on their site! We rent single family homes but there are also amazing options for condos (right on the beach!) with great amenities. So make sure to check out their website to find the perfect fit for your family.
This is the original house we booked last year that we stayed at for a few days before we moved to the house below. I fell in love with the design of this house and it's even dreamier in person. But when we got there we realized the pool was getting fixed and wouldn't be working our whole trip. I reached out to the management company and they were amazing to find us a new house that had everything we were looking for as well as a working pool. They responded quickly and went out of their way to make something work for us, which I was super impressed by! I was a little sad to leave this house because the space was great, but a pool for the kids was a must. If you stay at Beargrass way you will be in the Nature Walk subdivision. It's about a mile from the beach (just a golf cart ride away) but the perks are you are in the cutest neighborhood with all sorts of trails and places for the kids to bike. Our family also loved that this community has a heated pool AND hot tub which was a huge selling point for us, when it's not under construction:) Book HERE if you're interested!
This house is in the Watersound Community, we love the Watersound area! This is the house they moved us to after we found out the pool wasn't working at the first house.
The private beach access in this neighborhood was for sure the highlight for the family, especially for Tate for easy access to go fishing!! The beach felt almost private since you can only access it from the neighborhood, which was also a huge bonus.
The master is on the main level in this house which is nice and the decor is very beachy which fits the vibe!
Downside to this place is it doesn't have a hot tub in the community, and it didn't have a front porch to watch the kids ride bikes etc, but the neighborhood had a putting green and the cutest paths for walking and biking. Plus drool worthy homes to look at everywhere! It also came with the prettiest golf cart I've ever seen, and bikes, a must in 30A! Book HERE if youre interested!
This is where we are staying this year! It's a bit larger than what we have done before which is nice because we are bringing down both Ryan and I's moms, Anna, and Ryans Aunt Marlis. And there is room for eveyrone!
It also has a private heated pool that we are very excited about, and the beach is less than a minute walk away, just across the road. We have never been this close to the beach so that is exciting for us and also a huge perk for Tate. He wasn't too sure about coming to Florida away from friends for 2 weeks, but he was pretty excited to know he can go fishing whenever he wants being this close to the ocean. And this will be the first time we have our very own pool, plus outside fireplace, so we are all excited for that!
Another tip we always look for is a house with a golf cart and bikes! We always use both of those the entire vacation. The kids love to ride bikes, and we always take a golf cart cruise multiple times a day!
