Projects of 2021

Let's do a recap of all the projects we tackled in 2021

#1  The Bathroom

Right after all of the festivities were over last year I dug into the bathroom remodel project!  I painted/tiled and decorated and updated this space into one that I LOVE by the middle of January.

#2 Painting all the trim Revere Pewter

It seems like every winter I get the itch to do a major painting project, and last year was no exception!  I started with the Revere Pewter paint color by Benjamin Moore in the bathroom and loved it so much I decided to continue it throughout the whole house!  I love how it warmed up the white walls and brought another layer in.

#3 A Facelift on the Master Bathroom

I was craving a little something different besides all of the black and white and decided to add a dark green color to our tub surround.  I also used dowels to create a fluted look for extra detail.  After painting the vanity to match, updating hardware, and changing out the vanity light, this quick little facelift did just the trick to update the space!

#4 The Kitchen

Quite possibly my favorite project of the year.  By adding a custom island with new countertops we completely transformed the feel and the layout of this kitchen. My workspace increased by over 3 times and now all of the kids can fit at the island!  We have loved this update and are so grateful to have been able to do it!

#5 RV Exterior Paint Job

Surprisingly this project got the most likes out of any post in my feed this year, and it was a quick 1 day turnaround!  I think we all love to see something old and outdated turned into something new that is affordable, attainable, and quick!  Here's a quick reminder of the before!

And after 3 hours of taping and 1 hour of using my favorite paint sprayer you can find HERE with 2 gallons of exterior paint in the color Toasted Poppyseed by Kilz brand, this transformation was complete!

#6 The Mudroom

This is for sure my 2nd favorite project of the year right behind the kitchen.  By adding on an attached garage, we were able to turn this room into a mudroom (a necessity for MN winters!) and add a door that goes out into the garage.  It eliminates all of the shoes/coats/snow gear at the entry in my kitchen and makes me so happy!!  I purchased these IKEA cabinets, made them myself, and added a little little desk area with some wood accents to soften and warm up the space!

I also disguised the door going out to the garage by adding 1/4" sanded plywood cut into 6" strips and painted the same revere pewter of the walls and trim.  I love that we don't have to look at a generic steel garage door and the cost to transform it was practically free!

#7 Porch Kitchen at the Cabin

This project was a game changer at the cabin!  We love having an extra fridge out here for all of the beverages and to be able to dish up in the porch is so much better for entertaining, especially when your cabin is only 800 square feet.  We painted oak cabinets we were given to us by friends in toasted poppyseed by kilz brand in flat, added new hardware, bought an in stock slab or carrera marble laminate countertop from Menards, and put up vertical shiplap and a floating shelf for extra storage!

#8 Kynlees Room Update + Wallpaper

Kynlee desperately wanted to add a desk in her room and was asking to get rid of the light pink to make it more of a teen room.  I was able to partner with Spoonflower and add this gorgeous peel and stick wallpaper to her back wall and transform this space in a day.  We spray painted her windows black, painted her trim in revere pewter, and voila! Updated space accomplished!

And we actually ended the year with a garage build.  We are almost done with that but it will be 2022 when it's complete and we can't wait to do some landscaping and concrete work this next spring/summer.  This year has been a crazy one, with a lot of twists and turns and ups and downs,  yet we rejoice knowing this isn't our home.  Projects are fun....making things beautiful is one of my favorite hobbies, but I'm grateful to know that there is so much more to this life than just that.  Thanks for following along, supporting us, and being not only our cheerleaders but also our prayer warriors.  We are forever humbled by all of you!

Let's see what God has in store for us all in 2022!
