TWEEN BEDROOM DESIGN

I’ve been having fun putting together bedrooms for you all, and I’ve done a little boys room and a little girls room, so this time I thought it would be fun to do an older girls room! I went out of my comfort zone and mixed colors and patterns and I think it would make such a cute eclectic teenager girls room! It could even work for college apartment or young adults ! The first thing that started this design was this gorgeous bed . I loved the color and worked about it for the whole room!

And once I found that bed, I thought how fun to do an accent wall in this gorgeous peel and stick wallpaper!  I love how it makes all of the colors and patterns work together! you could put it on the wall with the dresser or the bed.

I love this white and gold nighstand for each side of the bed. Drawers are so perfect for teenagers hiding all of their stuff and allowing the room to remain clean. At least thats the hope:)

And since the wallpaper is full of pattern and color, I would put on a neutral comforter like this one and maybe dress it up with afun fur pillow like the one below

And quite possibly my favorite piece in this whole room (besides the bed) is this fun white and black polka dot rug!  I think it’s the perfect pop of bold and eclectic and love how it grounds the design!

This is the dresser I found for a great price, I think it’s perfect but of course you know I would take my favorite European gold rub n buff to turn those silver knobs to gold to match the nightstands:) And to dress it up you can addthis fun mirror above it!

And lastly I think it’s fun to give a teenager a place to sit and read or relax!  This little faux leather chair is the perfect accent chair without taking up too much room!

Adding a little rattan arch floor lamp andfun faux sheepskin rug help to ground the space and cozy it up! I think any teenager would love to snuggle up and enjoy their room here:)

Lastly add some pretty storage for extra blankets or your teens dirty clothes even! It’s pretty enough to stand alone or use for another purpose!

I hope it helps you to see this moodboard to give you some inspiration!  I added up the cost of each of these items and to recreate this teen girls bedroom it would cost you $1494 if you bought 4 rolls of wallpaper and everything on the design board!  Not a bad price for a complete room makeover!  Shop all of the links below!

The Oaks final outdoor reveal

I pulled off the biggest surprise I've ever done... I can't believe it!! So a little back story - 17 years ago Ryan sold his prized possession, his 1991 Mazda Miata, to help fund a much needed mini van for our baby on the way. After I got pregnant I quit my job and we went from 2 incomes down to 1 income. We knew that a 2 person convertible just wasn't practical and that the finances could be used in a better way. So we sold it... Fast forward 17 years and it all comes back full circle. I put my 17 year old son Tate on the task of finding us a Miata that looked just like dads, and he blew it out of the water. He found the perfect car on Facebook Marketplace In great condition! He drove almost 3 hours to pick it up with a buddy and pulled off the best surprise ever!!! Also to note Tate has never driven through the Twin Cities or Driven a stick shift on any road besides a gravel one close to the cabin. BUT he was confident and crushed the challenge!! We stored it for the night and gave it to him the next day! I think Ryan's reaction says it all (watch the mini vlog below!) Our "19th" anniversary isn't until November but what fun is a convertible if you can't drive it in the summer, so we gave it to him early and are so happy we did! *make sure to read until the end for a good laugh ;)
