The Cabin Living Room

The Cabin Living Room got a couple small updates this spring! Nothing crazy but a few little things to make it feel refreshed...

Here is the history and before/after's of this room if you want to see how insanely much this room changed in the very beginning! I always think it's so fun seeing the before and after's of someone's space.

Also, all the order links (if they are still shoppable) are there as this blog will have the updated/newer links shared.

Notice the old retro dvd player;) well we have no WIFI out at the cabin and really enjoy it that way! Makes it a lot easier to not get distracted with screens and really take in the calm and slow pace of life on the lake.

That being said we just had a floating shelf underneath the time (photo seen below)

I wanted something with a little bit more storage and less cords seen;)

I found this adorable Wood Cabinet at TjMaxx and knew it would be perfect for this spot. With the gold hardware and the Jute doors.

The other new update done is this Rug from Boutique Rugs, Called Rivin Moroccan.

Use Code 31Girl for a discount.

It is actually the sister rug to the one I recently switched out in my living room. I put a fun little twist on that one, See HERE what is!

I like the muted simplicity it gives but always is far from overwhelming to the eye. The small details here and there are the perfect amount of texture.  It isn't a thick rug which is what I wanted but the top of it is ultra soft to walk on!

Updated Bunk Room

The Bunkroom got a fresh new set of Beddys Beds, I may be in love with this new pattern!

The Oaks final outdoor reveal
By Allie Lundeen August 14, 2025
I pulled off the biggest surprise I've ever done... I can't believe it!! So a little back story - 17 years ago Ryan sold his prized possession, his 1991 Mazda Miata, to help fund a much needed mini van for our baby on the way. After I got pregnant I quit my job and we went from 2 incomes down to 1 income. We knew that a 2 person convertible just wasn't practical and that the finances could be used in a better way. So we sold it... Fast forward 17 years and it all comes back full circle. I put my 17 year old son Tate on the task of finding us a Miata that looked just like dads, and he blew it out of the water. He found the perfect car on Facebook Marketplace In great condition! He drove almost 3 hours to pick it up with a buddy and pulled off the best surprise ever!!! Also to note Tate has never driven through the Twin Cities or Driven a stick shift on any road besides a gravel one close to the cabin. BUT he was confident and crushed the challenge!! We stored it for the night and gave it to him the next day! I think Ryan's reaction says it all (watch the mini vlog below!) Our "19th" anniversary isn't until November but what fun is a convertible if you can't drive it in the summer, so we gave it to him early and are so happy we did! *make sure to read until the end for a good laugh ;)
