Another Surprise lot...

SURPRISE!!!

We bought another lot on our lake...

Yes, you read that correct! We bought the neighboring lot to the lot we bought last fall, crazy right!! Let me tell you the story!

Just like the first lot, we weren't seeking this lot out.  We never intended to purchase it.  We were actually told after we bought our lot that this lot was being sold to a family member and we were just so grateful because the outside was a mess.  Think toilets in the yard, 3 couches, an old pop up camper and so much more.  Not a pleasant lot to look at for our guests or ourselves!  On top of that, it was another trailer that was completely beyond saving, so it was another big project of clearing that out after we had just finished with the last.

I give a video tour over on IG and that pink stove was adorable but beyond repair sadly:(  A few months after we purchased our lot we got a call about this one.  It was a family member of the owner of our lot that was selling it and he was hoping to get the names of the other bidders that were interested in the lake lot we purchased.  The sweet lady we bought our lot from said I'm not giving you any other names, you should contact Ryan and Allie first because it makes the most sense for them to get first dibs.  I mean, how sweet was that.  And although we've been saving up forever to build our cabin, we knew the opportunity to have two lots side by side on the lake was too good to pass up. So although we weren't seeking it out, and we didn't even think it was an option, about a month ago we closed on the second lake lot.

Ryan, Tate, and our nephew Brett demoed the old trailer in a few hours, you can head to my IG highlight on lake lots to see the hyperlapse of the demo, it's pretty amazing!  And we left this little "addition" they added on for a fun project.  So you'll have to stay tuned to see what I have up my sleeve for that! We don't plan on building on this lot.  It came with another shed we have a fun idea for and then this addition, and I think it will make just the coolest experience for whoever comes to stay at the cabin!  I can't wait to turn it into such a fun experience!

The addition is now wide open, lol!  Hoping we can get to it sooner rather than later, but there's a few things going on and it's only a one man show, bless Ryan's heart.  So we can't wait to take you along on this journey, (even if it's slow moving) and watch it progress into something magical that we hope you all can enjoy!

The Oaks final outdoor reveal
By Allie Lundeen August 14, 2025
I pulled off the biggest surprise I've ever done... I can't believe it!! So a little back story - 17 years ago Ryan sold his prized possession, his 1991 Mazda Miata, to help fund a much needed mini van for our baby on the way. After I got pregnant I quit my job and we went from 2 incomes down to 1 income. We knew that a 2 person convertible just wasn't practical and that the finances could be used in a better way. So we sold it... Fast forward 17 years and it all comes back full circle. I put my 17 year old son Tate on the task of finding us a Miata that looked just like dads, and he blew it out of the water. He found the perfect car on Facebook Marketplace In great condition! He drove almost 3 hours to pick it up with a buddy and pulled off the best surprise ever!!! Also to note Tate has never driven through the Twin Cities or Driven a stick shift on any road besides a gravel one close to the cabin. BUT he was confident and crushed the challenge!! We stored it for the night and gave it to him the next day! I think Ryan's reaction says it all (watch the mini vlog below!) Our "19th" anniversary isn't until November but what fun is a convertible if you can't drive it in the summer, so we gave it to him early and are so happy we did! *make sure to read until the end for a good laugh ;)
