The Lakeside Garage Space
The Lakeside Cottage - Garage Bonus Space
We had always planned on making these 2 rooms in the garage at the lakeside cottage one big room for extra space and extra sleeping!! We decided to make it our goal to finish it off before June 1st and when all of the summer rentals start to arrive.
We were able to make that happen and have it done just in the nick of time!

This was my vision board that I created at the beginning of the project!
This was the front room, right next to the driveway...
The wall dividing the 2 rooms...
And the second room below in the back side of the garage...
This is exactly how it looked when we bought the place. It was 2 separate rooms right next to each other. We wanted to maximize the space as much as possible in this bonus room , so we decided it would be the move to open it up and make it one big room with 2 different sections!
Ta - Da!! Here is the Lakeside Cottage Garage Reno completed!!
These are my favorite blackout pleated curtains. You guys, I really can't believe the quality of these curtains! Plus, they come in a 2-panel pack which is even better! They are truly a blackout curtain which is amazing. I added 2 panels on each side of the window to make it look grander.
I love to use this Black Molding to create grids on the windows! I have a reel saved on my feed when I did it over on the lakeside cottage porch windows awhile back, so check that out if you want to see it be done on a video.
I have done this on so many windows adding a little touch of character. A major upgrade for a great price!
A game table of some sort was a HUGE must for this space. Especially when it comes to having teens or young adults some sort of game they can play when we aren't by the lake was a must!
Adding a fireplace to this room was a must too, to help add a little bit extra heat to the space. I put this together in about 20 minutes. Super sturdy and lets off a good amount of heat! I ended up painting this one the same color as the walls,
but it does come in a pretty creamy color and a dark gray that I loved too.
Wall Color is called Blanched by Magnolia Paints. I used this same color inside the cottage. So I wanted it to be somewhat cohesive. I get all of my Magnolia Paints from our local Ace Hardware store! So make sure to check there if you want to use a Magnolia paint!
I came across this sleeper sofa while I was on the hunt for one. Sleeper sofas are hard to come by. I wanted it to look a certain way so when I found this one I thought on it for a bit and then decided it was the one.
It was an nonnegotiable as that was a big reason for this space was adding another spot to sleep.
All of the bedding to make this bed when you stay is right in the closet next to the TV! Super easy and slick to make up quickly before you cozy in for bedtime.
