The Oaks - Upstairs Bathroom

Upstair Bathroom

The last bathroom to get finished is this bright traditional bathroom upstairs! It is connected to one of the bedrooms as well as the hallway upstairs. So it will serve as the upstairs bathroom to both rooms here at the Oaks!

This room came together here and there over the past few months. We started it last fall. So It has been waiting patiently for the reveal.

I knew under the windows was a perfect spot for a big soaker tub. And I think that thought is proven to be true! Makes me want to crawl right in on this snowy spring day LOL!

Isn't this vintage inspired shower and bath combo so fun?! With the oval rod going the entire way around the tub plus the very exposed faucet system!

I was on the hunt for an extra long shower curtain since our oval rod is so high the curtain needed to be higher too. I snagged this beige ruffle curtain and boy oh boy is it cute with the added frill!

I went back and forth brainstorming on what this little cut out nook should turn into. I landed on a small vanity!

An acrylic vanity to not take up too much of the airy feel, a comfy cozy stool, a couple mirrors and a cutie lamp and she's the perfect little spot to do your makeup or nightly routine.

I found this tile and fell in love with it very early on in our building process! Pulling in a subtle pattern with a warm and cool mixture.

Tate, Kynlee and I tiled it together as a little family project one afternoon and it was smooth sailing!

From the very moment I laid eyes on this vanity, I couldn't help but be obsessed!!

The character, the charm, the wood details, the marble top.

I was just meant to be in this bathroom and the price tag on this beauty is even better! Shopping for bathroom vanities can be so expensive and defeating. But this one is a diamond in the rough in my opinion!

It even came with the perfect knobs! I just had to purchase the faucet.

New Paragraph

Towel hooks are linked below. They are an Etsy find!

I have created a highlight bubble called "New Build" on my instagram of past stories on the entire process from start to the current phase of the Oaks! So if you want to see the process a little more in video form, don't forget to go check that out!

The Oaks final outdoor reveal
By Allie Lundeen August 14, 2025
I pulled off the biggest surprise I've ever done... I can't believe it!! So a little back story - 17 years ago Ryan sold his prized possession, his 1991 Mazda Miata, to help fund a much needed mini van for our baby on the way. After I got pregnant I quit my job and we went from 2 incomes down to 1 income. We knew that a 2 person convertible just wasn't practical and that the finances could be used in a better way. So we sold it... Fast forward 17 years and it all comes back full circle. I put my 17 year old son Tate on the task of finding us a Miata that looked just like dads, and he blew it out of the water. He found the perfect car on Facebook Marketplace In great condition! He drove almost 3 hours to pick it up with a buddy and pulled off the best surprise ever!!! Also to note Tate has never driven through the Twin Cities or Driven a stick shift on any road besides a gravel one close to the cabin. BUT he was confident and crushed the challenge!! We stored it for the night and gave it to him the next day! I think Ryan's reaction says it all (watch the mini vlog below!) Our "19th" anniversary isn't until November but what fun is a convertible if you can't drive it in the summer, so we gave it to him early and are so happy we did! *make sure to read until the end for a good laugh ;)
