HOMEMADE PIZZA NIGHT

Outdoor Cabin Pizza Night

Outdoor Pizza Cabin night has become one of our family's favorite things. Everyone can create their own pizzas to their liking, with super easy baking process! Super fun to have for when company is over for a fun hosting experience.

The oven we got runs on wood pellets. It takes about 15 minutes to heat up after you light the pellets, then the cooking can begin!

I made the homemade dough about an hour before hand, once it has risen each person gets a dough ball and can start rolling and creating!

Pizza Oven Dough Recipe

Makes about 7/8 personal sized pizzas.

  1. 4 Cups 00 flour
  2. 1 1/3 cup room temperature water
  3. 1 packet rapid rise yeast
  4. 1 tsp sugar
  5. 1 tsp salt
*Tip use corn meal on the bottom of the plate before rolling out to help prevent sticking to the oven !

Directions

  1. Empty yeast packet into water. Place sugar in water. Whisk with spoon or fingers. Let proof for 5 minutes. Good when starts to froth at the surface.
  2. In medium bowl add h flour and salt. Create a volcano like hole in the center of the flour. Pour yeast into the hole. Gently circle your finger around the rim of the hole, while mixing in more and more flour into water mixture. Eventually all the flour mix should be mixed into the center until you have a dough ball. If it's slightly wet just add a dusting of flour until it isn't so sticky. If the ball of dough is a little dry add a little bit of warm water to keep it just moist.
  3. In a large bowl with a bit of olive oil, place dough ball inside. Drizzle olive oil on top and then cover with a damp kitchen cloth. Let is rise until dough has doubled in size.

Once in the oven, you turn the pizza 3 times. Every 20-25 seconds and then it comes out perfect! Correct it only takes about 1 minute to cook! So quick! So, fun because you get a show but also everyone can still eat all together at the same time!

Also, that cart is SO HANDY. Especially if you don't have an outdoor kitchen, to be able to wheel everything in and out makes the world of a difference!

Here are each of our favorite pizza's if you are looking for some different ideas!

The Oaks final outdoor reveal
By Allie Lundeen August 14, 2025
I pulled off the biggest surprise I've ever done... I can't believe it!! So a little back story - 17 years ago Ryan sold his prized possession, his 1991 Mazda Miata, to help fund a much needed mini van for our baby on the way. After I got pregnant I quit my job and we went from 2 incomes down to 1 income. We knew that a 2 person convertible just wasn't practical and that the finances could be used in a better way. So we sold it... Fast forward 17 years and it all comes back full circle. I put my 17 year old son Tate on the task of finding us a Miata that looked just like dads, and he blew it out of the water. He found the perfect car on Facebook Marketplace In great condition! He drove almost 3 hours to pick it up with a buddy and pulled off the best surprise ever!!! Also to note Tate has never driven through the Twin Cities or Driven a stick shift on any road besides a gravel one close to the cabin. BUT he was confident and crushed the challenge!! We stored it for the night and gave it to him the next day! I think Ryan's reaction says it all (watch the mini vlog below!) Our "19th" anniversary isn't until November but what fun is a convertible if you can't drive it in the summer, so we gave it to him early and are so happy we did! *make sure to read until the end for a good laugh ;)
