DIY Frame

After purchasing a pre-made frame for our 32" tv in Sweet Caroline, and spending $550 on it, I decided I am going to try my hand at making my own.  I can not believe how easy it was.  It only took me 1 hour and cost me just a little over $80.  It actually was so easy I ended up making 2! One for our regular tv in the bedroom at Lakeside Cottage and one for our frame tv in our living room.  They really do work for any flat screen tv.  You can find the supplies you will need listed below.

Supplies List

 Gold Rub N Buff

Elastic

Wood Filler

Metal Corner Braces

3 - 1x3x8 pine boards

3 - 1x4x8 decorative trim boards (window or door trim)

Black spray paint

1/2" wood screws

Circular Saw

Air Nailer with 1" and 2" nails

Wood Glue

Step By Step

I actually made a video tutorial on IG that shows the whole process.  I am a visual learner so I thought that would be the most helpful.  I also wrote out the step by step process on the post as well.  So check it out HERE.

You can find the artwork I uploaded to the tv HERE.  This only works if you have a frame tv.

Can you believe that's a tv?  The chunky gold frame disguises it so well.  I added the photo of the frame I made for the bedroom tv as well below.  I am not always a huge fan of a tv in a bedroom so one that looks like a piece of art is a great compromise!

I can't wait for you to try your hand at making your own tv frame!  Make sure to tag me (@proverbsthirtyongirl) on IG if you do!! It's my favorite to see your Allie inspired projects as well:)

The Oaks final outdoor reveal

I pulled off the biggest surprise I've ever done... I can't believe it!! So a little back story - 17 years ago Ryan sold his prized possession, his 1991 Mazda Miata, to help fund a much needed mini van for our baby on the way. After I got pregnant I quit my job and we went from 2 incomes down to 1 income. We knew that a 2 person convertible just wasn't practical and that the finances could be used in a better way. So we sold it... Fast forward 17 years and it all comes back full circle. I put my 17 year old son Tate on the task of finding us a Miata that looked just like dads, and he blew it out of the water. He found the perfect car on Facebook Marketplace In great condition! He drove almost 3 hours to pick it up with a buddy and pulled off the best surprise ever!!! Also to note Tate has never driven through the Twin Cities or Driven a stick shift on any road besides a gravel one close to the cabin. BUT he was confident and crushed the challenge!! We stored it for the night and gave it to him the next day! I think Ryan's reaction says it all (watch the mini vlog below!) Our "19th" anniversary isn't until November but what fun is a convertible if you can't drive it in the summer, so we gave it to him early and are so happy we did! *make sure to read until the end for a good laugh ;)
